Smoke Alarm Program

Most fire-related deaths and injuries are caused by smoke and often occur at night while you're asleep. Working smoke alarms can significantly increase your chances of escaping safely and alerting 911 in the event of a fire. Installing smoke alarms in the right locations throughout your home can save lives—yours and your loved ones'. Be sure to test your smoke alarms monthly and always know two ways out of every room in your home. Click here for more information on smoke alarms.
We understand that many homes on the Ranch are older and may not meet current smoke alarm standards, which can make residents more vulnerable during a fire. Thanks to a grant program with the American Red Cross, we are able to provide battery-operated smoke alarms to Ranch residents who have outdated or non-functional alarms and cannot afford to replace them. We also offer "visual" smoke alarms for those who are hard of hearing or deaf. If you are a Crooked River Ranch resident without working smoke alarms or unable to afford them, please contact us at (541) 923-6776.
